Our History
Kostas Restaurant has been
a part of the northwest suburban landscape since 1978.
The Kourtis brothers decided to go
into
business together and purchased a piece of property on the corner of
Hicks and Dundee roads in Palatine, that was the sight of an old
gasoline station. The focus from the very
beginning was to bring a quality product to the
area while treating the patrons to
true Greek hospitality. No frills, no
glory, just good food at great prices.
The Kourtis brothers opened Kourtis Gyros in November of
1978, the days were short and the nights where endless.
Slowly they began to build a solid, respectable business
by working countless hours and making sure
that the customer was at the heart of everything they did.
In the mid 90’s
Gus, took over the business with the help of his new partner and son
Pete. Having grown up on the corner of Hicks and
Dundee, spending countless hours learning the
business, Pete knew exactly what he had to do to
ensure the restaurants continued success. The
name was changed to Kostas Gyros, but the
excellence in quality and service continued.
Today
Kostas is still on that same corner serving
hundreds of friends and neighbors everyday.
With the addition of the new location in Algonquin and two new
partners Bill and Pete P., Kostas hopes to bring
that same casual, relaxed atmosphere to the far northwest suburban area.
Always providing great food at great prices and never forgetting
that true Greek hospitality. |
